Abstract
Specific cost is one of the most important technical and economic parameters in designing tunnel excavation and blasting patterns. Therefore, its prediction and optimization are of great importance. The specific cost depends on several parameters such as geological conditions, rock mechanical properties, and geometric design parameters. In this study, based on the geomechanical properties of the rock mass in the construction of the water supply tunnel of the Seymareh Dam, a suitable model for determining specific costs using statistical methods has been presented. In this regard, to eliminate the effect of collinearity between input variables in the prediction models, the PCA analysis method has been used, and the parameters of the model determination coefficient (R2) and the mean square error (MSE) have been used to evaluate and compare the constructed models. The comparison of the models shows that eliminating collinearity between input variables by using the PCA method has yielded better prediction results.
